My photography doesn’t do the image justice, but I couldn’t wait any longer to add this piece by J, Art 20.

Here is a recent piece by K in Art 20…the background colours make me think that spring is coming at last! Yay!

Hi guys — I hope you’ll consider entering this contest (details below). It is an important issue and a great opportunity to showcase your work. Last year our very own J in Art 30 took home the grand prize. Please see me if you’d like an application form.
Every Victim Matters Youth Art Show
As part of National Victims of Crime Awareness Week (April 21 - 27, 2013), the
Edmonton Restorative Justice Network (ERJN) invites young people between the
ages of 12 - 24 to express themselves on the issue of “Every Victim Matters”.
The theme for NVCAW 2013 is “We All Have a Role” All Canadians can play a
role in helping victims of crime access the services available to them. The first
level of support for many victims of crime is family and friends. NVCAW 2013
provides a backdrop for a national discussion about the laws, services and
programs available for victims of crime at the community, provincial, territorial
and federal level.
This Youth Art Show is an exciting opportunity to:
• Artistically express your thoughts and feelings on what it means to have a role
in helping victims of crime, and how you can support others who are suffering
from bullying, racism, homophobia and other types of injustice.
• Share and show your work in a public exhibition
• Win one of two $300 grand prizes (12-16 year old & 17-24 year old categories)
The fourth annual Every Victim Matters youth art show will be on display from
April 21 – 27, 2013. Last year the exhibition featured drawing, painting, sculpture,
installation, video, rap, poetry, music, and art performances from youth. The
perspectives of youth matter! We want your voice heard!
