Call For Submissions

Every Victim Matters Youth Art Show

As part of National Victims of Crime Awareness Week (April 21 - 27, 2013), the

Edmonton Restorative Justice Network (ERJN) invites young people between the

ages of 12 - 24 to express themselves on the issue of “Every Victim Matters”.

The theme for NVCAW 2013 is “We All Have a Role” All Canadians can play a

role in helping victims of crime access the services available to them. The first

level of support for many victims of crime is family and friends. NVCAW 2013

provides a backdrop for a national discussion about the laws, services and

programs available for victims of crime at the community, provincial, territorial

and federal level.

This Youth Art Show is an exciting opportunity to:

• Artistically express your thoughts and feelings on what it means to have a role

in helping victims of crime, and how you can support others who are suffering

from bullying, racism, homophobia and other types of injustice.

• Share and show your work in a public exhibition

• Win one of two $300 grand prizes (12-16 year old & 17-24 year old categories)

The fourth annual Every Victim Matters youth art show will be on display from

April 21 – 27, 2013. Last year the exhibition featured drawing, painting, sculpture,

installation, video, rap, poetry, music, and art performances from youth. The

perspectives of youth matter! We want your voice heard!

Deadline for Artwork Submissions & Forms: Wednesday April 3, 2013
